If you have Microsoft Office, you

program. They are both powerful programs and if you are
already using them and feel comfortable with them, maybe you
should stick with the one you are using.

Email Merge Programs Explained
If you are using your
email program to send out sales letters to a list of prospects
it will be very tedious, especially if you want to personalize
the email with their names or other information. It can be
done but the larger your lists become, the more likely that
you will want an email merge program.
An email merge program can read from a
list of names and email addresses in either a database file, a
spreadsheet or a special "delimited text file". Delimited
means that the limits of the "fields" (fields are like
firstname,lastname,emailaddress) are ended by a tab character
or a comma.
For instance
John,Wilson,johnwilson@dware.us would be a name and
address in a comma-delimited text file. The comma after John
means that is the end of my firstname and the comma after
Wilson means that is the end of my lastname with my email
address following and it is ended by the end of the line.
Knowing this the email merge program
can read and find in the special text file the information
that it needs to enter the address in the TO: box of the email
program. It also can enter the first name only to personalize
the message like "Hello, John" or "Hello Mr. Wilson".
When you place the persons name in the
subject line of an email he is much more likely to open it and
when he sees if further personalized in the body of the email
he is much more likely to read it. That's exactly what you
want him to do so by using such an email merge program, you
much improve your chances of having your message read and much
more likely to make a sale.

used it and find it very easy to use. Others which I have
tried to use are not nearly so friendly as this one. You can
